On the occasion of style.com’s 10th anniversary a selective group of just the biggest designer names (Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang and Lanvin to name a few) has been asked to create a limited t-shirt edition.  And on top of that fashion’s global A-list has modeled the tees in front of Tommy Ton‘s camera. Oh and to make this even better a proportion of the proceeds will be donated to ‘Computer for Youth’! Now this is not only a perfectly smart and creative idea but also the result is very convincing. What do u think? I’m sold…

It contains over 30 profiles, accompanied by Todd’s famous watercolor portraits and small interviews, of which most have not been published before on the Selby site. The book is launching on April 1st, but there will be an exclusive pre-sale chez Colette this week, with lots of cool events ranging from Karaoke, to interior consultation and the possibility to get a portrait of your pet.

So, guess where I will be heading today to get my version of the book…?

Crowds of young Parisians and international followers of the Sartorialist are queuing outside the famous concept store to get their copy of THE BOOK signed by Scott Schuman himself. It is almost impossible to enter the store and one could easily assume that some popstar came down to shake hands and give autographs. And there, in the middle of flashing cameras, excited fans, the hardworking Colette-staff and next to a very busy Scott, she sits shining and smiling gracefully: GARANCE DORÉ.

I had never met her before and believe me: she looks nice on pictures but she is absolutely STUNNING in reality! In a white shirt with rolled-up sleeves, a bandage mini-skirt and matching booties she looked effortlessly chic and cool without screaming for attention. Apart from being one of the most successful and influential fashion bloggers herself, Garance definitely has First-Lady-qualities!

I am really waiting for Garances own book to be launched soon! And please don’t make it a limited edition;-)!

Was browsing through the new ELLE (the German issue for once) yesterday when I came across these beautiful drawings taken from Cally Blackman’s collection of the most remarkable fashion illustrations from 1900 until now. The one shown above (“Dior Dress” from 1949) was done by René Gruau for a magazine called “Femina”.

The book that features 400 illustrations of more than 140 couturiers and artists has now been published in German (“Modezeichnungen”, Verlag Rolf Heyne 39,90 Euro). Not that this would matter (I mean, it’s mainly pictures!)…just another reason to REALLY go and get it this time;-).
