Last weekend we did our first outfit shoots for this fall, it was a beautiful day and the light was just perfect. While Sarah went for faux fur, I decided to play a bit with forms. So I paired my drop-crotch pants with sculptural shoulders.

I was totally delighted when I found this shirt with puffy shoulders chez Zara. It reminds a lot of this one by Isabel Marant, while being a lot more affordable:)

Just came back from a short trip to my favourite spot in the world: Lago Maggiore (a.k.a. THE lake!). Its mediterranean flair and the good old 70′s-glam that has somehow never left make this place very inspiring. Yet it is totally quiet and relaxing unlike other lakes in Northern Italy. My sis and I decided to take some shots right before sundown trying to catch the gloaming light:

Intense greens = perfect contrast for my 70′s-inspired outfit! These shorts are not exactly flattering…I know, I know.

… back to the 80′s…Balmainia…best trend for fall/winter… BIG SHOULDERS!

As you can see, I am totally and irrationally into the whole big shoulder thing. A few seasons ago shoulder pads would have been a sure fashion crime, NOW they are all over the place – thanks to fashion genius Christophe Decarnin!

So you can imagine how thrilled I was to discover this great, big shoulder blazer chez ZARA a few weeks ago…

It has a perfect fit and great details! Right now I wear it with my beloved jeans shorts and a simple tee, but I can’t wait to style it for fall with some great leggins, an oversized cardigan and overknees…until then enjoy the last days of summer!

This ruffled top is definitely one of my summer favourites. It has some kind of extravaganza to it that makes all of my dull basics (old skinnies in this case) instantly look fashionable. Could use more of that…ha, ha.

Going out on a summer night in black & blue shades. I remember when this used to be a hideous combination (and my mom still doesn’t like it!) but guess what: now I can’t get enough of it! One good thing about the post-SATC-era: There are no rules in fashion. Thanks, Carrie!

I am crazy about platform wedges! The chunky heel makes my silhouette look more frail (I think/hope). BTW these Costume Nationals were my favourites of all S/S 09 sandals: a sculptural heel, nice details and AQUA BLUE!  Couldn’t resist…

We were totally thrilled when we first heard about Burberry’s new face for the Fall campaign: everybody’s darling and STYLE HEROINE in the making Emma Watson. The Harry Potter star is enchanting the fashion world this August, as she  rocks the cover of both Elle UK (watch the behind the scenes video here) and Teen Vogue.

Inspired by Emma’s charm we created our own, summery version of Burberry’s effortless Brit chic…

The key to this look is to take a modern version of a classy piece, like this short TRENCH and pair it with earth toned colours and distressed denim!

It’s also really important to have the right make up: smokey eyes, nude lips and dark nail polish!

I like contrasts. So I was extremely happy when I found this shoulder-padded cardigan/jacket/awesome piece at H&M yesterday. The color is a powdery rose which perfectly sets off the sharp-shoulders and makes it work for late summer days as well as fall.

I paired it with a simple tank, cut-off denim shorts and lots of necklaces. It basically goes with everything though!

These white cut-off shorts used to be a pair of boring Marc by Marc Jacobs bermudas I brought from San Diego. I recently found them in the basement and decided that it was time for a comeback – with a sexier distressed look;-).

5. and as an extra finish add a vintage Chanel brooch (this one was found by Carola on a market in Ascona, otherwise Paris is THE place to find some little Chanel treasures!)

We simply LOVE the new Miu Miu collection for this fall: bags and shoes come in black leather or suede and are covered with studs to create a ROCK’N'ROLL feeling de luxe. The fabulous Jane from seaofshoes.com snatched these great ankle booties, while Carola fell for these hotties. As for me, I could not resist getting myself these cute and comfy flats to add a bit rock attitude to my daily wardrobe – and the best is that I do not even have to wait for fall in order to wear them!

She-Ra a.k.a. the Princess of Power was the super heroine of my sister and I when we were kids (actually we were not allowed to watch the cartoon on TV – which made She-Ra and her male equivalent He-Man even more interesting!). So when TOPSHOP launched a t-shirt collection (a while back) with the 80’s-comic figure Sarah obviously had to get one. The She-Ra tee quickly made its way up to the top of favourite t-shirts and has been much loved since. With a little help of these awesome Fendi-booties and a printed summer skirt we thought it would make a post-worthy outfit.

Watch out for Miss She-Ra and her Fendis: higher fashion-power!

The booties are made of black suede with a mesh-like material in the front and cool zippers in the back. Perfect for a smooth transition into fall! Damn, I wish we had the same shoe size…

Voilà, some of my favourite summer looks! As with Carola, my colour palette is rather neutral with lots of black, white and grey…spiced up with some pops of gold. This summer I practically live in my jeans shorts, which I dress up with a blazer and heels or down with my favourite Miu Miu gladiators and a simple tee. Did I mention that I spent most of the time searching for the perfectly fitting white t-shirt? Sometimes, the simple things are the hardest to find…!
