Just what you need for that certain off-beat, Parisian chic!

The principle of Mix & Match – my most important style credo btw – got a whole new meaning when I came across Cynthia Smith‘s nonchalant way of pairing a mini & maxi bag for the  ‘Five days, Five looks, One Girl’ feature on vogue.com (if you’re not familiar with the series, make sure you check it out here!). And since the Voguista’s mint-green mini Chanel and two-tone Céline shopper make such a stylish pair, I’ve decided to put together a couple of suggestions on how to mix XS and XL bags:

Absolutely LOVE the pop-hued mini version of Lanvin’s iconic ‘Happy’ bag! Since it certainly doesn’t fit much of my stuff (close to nothing actually) I would complement it with an oversized classic carry-all from Mulberry. The soft, tan vintage leather leaves the floor to the rasperry pink tone.

Topping my list of must-buy bags is the mini shoulder bag from Valentino’s Rockstud collection. I think it would perfectly work for the office when teamed with this raffia beach tote that easily fits my ballet flats, magazines & a bottle of Evian.

Feeling very drawn to the wristlet trend lately. This black leather Alaia model could be pinched straight from the Olsen Twins’ closets. And since it’s a little too precious to be limited to after-dark occasions, the Kate Mouse print tote bag with black leather straps (exclusive to Liberty!) makes a nice & roomy addition. And we know there’s only one Kate in London, right;-)?

It’s September! THE most important fashion month has kicked off and I like to think that after a rather unspectacular summer there is a golden fall waiting for me:-). To be all set for that particular case I have put together a list of things that I just NEED (apart from the red Chanel 2.55 which proves to be a difficult mission…). Be inspired!

So here’s what!

The BASICS:

1. The Camel coat (boyfriend cut and perfect length at Topshop)

2. A Theory silk shirt (can’t live without it!)

3. Red ankle-length denim (See by Chloé via Yoox but you can also try the Zara ones for cheap-and-chic alternative!)

The ACCESSORIES (a little more since I believe in ‘Eat Pray Accessorize’):

1. YSL Tribute sandals (to be worn with ripped socks. Sigh! If only they weren’t so damn expensive!)

2. Mulberry Alexa bag in black (I didn’t like th black but now I think it’s the only I won’t get tired of all too soon)

3. Vintage YSL bracelet (try Kaplan at Matches!)

4. Ray Ban Clubmaster sunnies (a cool classic)

5. A brown belt that I can tie around any random outfit (via H&M – I love their online-store for hassle-free basics shopping)

Talking about bags: Mulberry‘s latest coup is called “Alexa” (named after noone lesser than fashion’s favourite girl Alexa Chung) and recalls some retro school bag-chic. To be honest, me and Alexa (referring to the bag here) wasn’t love at first sight. I thought it was pretty lame actually. But then I spotted it on one of the interns in my uber-chic office and changed my mind:-). Now I’d literally die to have one but of course Alexa is sold out EVERYWHERE. Well except for the yellow version which I stumpled upon at Heathrow airport (the only thing that saved me from splurging on a YELLOW bag was my closing gate! Thank God!). Despite a slight little confusion at times my heart is set on the oak buffalo-leather version. What do u think, fellow bag-lovers?
