When I first saw it on the runway, I had a total 70′s association and I didn’t like it at all…but I got used to it after seeing it in countless editorials over the past few months (it is indeed the perfect layering piece for summer)…

So lets see how our favourite fashionistas wear it:

Elin pairs it with a plain bra, tight ACNE skirt and a black leather clutch.

Rumi wears it as a dress, with a white tank below, tough boots and a parka.

Kate wears the total Marant look. She also rocked the fishnet top on the Nylon cover of March.

This is pretty much what I wanna look like in 2011. Isabel Marant’s S/S 2011 collection sums up all of my New Year’s style resolutions;-). Very simple.

I am a huuuge fan fan of mixing simple cotton sweaters with flirty little skirts! Perfect oufit for a first date…;-)

Yes, OKAY. Isabel Marant’s style hasn’t evolved so much from her previous collections. Even the shoes are the same. But do we care?

LOVE the red! And the hair. And the make-up…

Too bad you can’t really see the jacket in this one. I found it in the buying folder this morning and let me tell you this is THE piece that will instantly lift up all of your summer staples and make any rolled-up-denim-outfit look très Parisienne. TRUST me;-).

Those mini-shorts are so hot! Okay, I honestly would not know where to wear these with a knit sweater (I mean, common!) but that’s what fashion is about: escaping reality.

It’s actually fun to mix summer wardrobe staples with NEW SEASON pieces. And it usually makes for an unexpected, cool outfit that feels fresh while giving you the confidence that only well worn-in things can give. I love how my sister paired her new budapester brogues, which she got here in Italy, with a white lace dress (recalling an Isabel Marant lace number that sold out way too fast!) and classic Wayfarers.

I think that classic brogues look especially cute on small feet:-). Sarah found these in the most random store here at the lake.

Here’s a close-up of the dress. It’s semi-sheer and really soft.

Sarah has the “Wayfarer” face – so unlike me! It’s important to find a classic pair of sunglasses that suit you well and that can sort of complement any outfit.

A classic satchel bag like Chloé’s Elsie makes this simple outfit all the more polished.

Kate + Isabel Marant = perfect 50s rock style

Just love this new Isabel Marant campaign for fall. Can’t wait for the new pieces to hit stores…

This is one of my favourite hats. Technically, its not even mine, but I “stole” it from my friend Isa. It’s Vintage and we bought it together chez Episode on Rue Tiquetonne.

Rest of the outfit: Zara shorts and blazer, Isabel Marant plaid tunic, Zadig&Voltaire scarf, Chloe Elsie bag.

Voila, a little selection of my ideal regatta wardrobe (I meant to post this earlier, but the pre-departure got a bit stressful…)

1. THE essential for each sailing trip is a stripped shirt. This one is by American Vintage, but usually Petit Bateau has some great ones too or just try to go Vintage.

2. Brioni Lurex-knit shorts via net-a-porter. You could just not go to Capri without adding a touch of Missoni glam to your beachwear!

3. Kody leather wedge sandals by Juicy Couture via net-a-porter.

4. Another classic: the espadrille. The Gap has some great ones this summer!

5. Howlite multi-strap drop earings via net-a-porter. Spice up each summer outfit with Isabel Marant’s boho-chic jewelry pieces.

6. Ray-ban wayfarers in red. The Italians just love it!!

7. Panama hat. Just take inspirations from Diane on how to style it!

8. DFV Omaya cutout tunic via net-a-porter. The right choice for the insane white party held at Villa Marina Hotel in Capri.

9./10. As for the beauty essentials: Make sure to have (at least) a little tan, which you could boost with Kiehl’s Facial Fuel Healthy Bronze, and go for bright, orange/red nailpolish. Les Coupines’ favourite for this summer: Monsooner or later by OPI!

Yesterday, I got myself the October Issue of i-D magazine. It’s such a good one… featuring the most coveted fashion crowd out there right now. I literally could not get myself to put it aside, before reading the whole thing (so I’m running on a sleep deficit now…).

One of the best contributions in the issue is this editorial with favourite model Dree Hemmingway, photographed by Alasdair McLellan. I LOVE these pictures: Dree looks so natural and fragile and beautiful, plus she is wearing lots of Isabel Marant…the whole mood is so special.

Isabel Marant + Me = Total Love Story

Season after season, I’m a huge fan of  Marant’s effortless and oh so Parisian style! So for next Spring it’s gonna be the sexy Pirate girl look with embellished jackets, hot pink and as always very short dresses. I don’t know about you, but I’m totally digging it !! Last weekend we did our first outfit shoots for this fall, it was a beautiful day and the light was just perfect. While Sarah went for faux fur, I decided to play a bit with forms. So I paired my drop-crotch pants with sculptural shoulders.

I was totally delighted when I found this shirt with puffy shoulders chez Zara. It reminds a lot of this one by Isabel Marant, while being a lot more affordable:)

How to work it? The fabulous Jane Aldridge from seaofshoes.com knows: pair down this awesome leo-skirt  with a grey sweater  and roll up sleeves for a casual twist. It’s been VOGUE-approved!

Never been too much of a kitten lover but I was immediately taken by this YSL tribute sandal when I first spotted it at the APROPOS boutique here in Cologne. It definitely has the power to spice up my ripped denim and make this trend work for ME. I will always love u, Yves.
