I love the idea of spicing up last year’s simple dark coat with all kinds of military inspired embellishments.
But it also works on the new season’s key piece the Camel coat!

So, better start searching your favourite vintage stores or local flea markets for old brooches and medals to create your very unique military look for this fall.

This summer I’m totally into the sailor/ regatta look. Love the combination of navy blue and white, gold accessories, stripes and red lipstick.

Girls, get your jeans shorts out now!! There is just nothing else you could wear with this hot hot weather!
Some of my favourite stylings:

Btw, today is the start of the ventes privees here in Paris. I’m gonna check out IRO and Sandro later today for some good bargains on their current summer collection. I am gonna be so broke at the end of this week…

I love this picture of Diane playing boules in Chanel. Her outfit is pure perfection: the mix of black&white, the texture of the skirt, the loose braid tied together with a ribbon (note to myself: that is how to wear the hair all summer long), the Panama hat…
Thanks to Garance for sharing the pics of this very intimate Chanel event in St. Tropez, they made my day, here in rainy Paris!

Recently, I have been totally obsessed with headbands. Ever since my dearest friend Helena sent me one for my birthday, I cannot stop wearing them. Last week I got one from Jennifer Behr, they’re just the best! I’m telling you, headbands are gonna be THE hottest accessory for the summer, so better get your stock up soon!!
1. You can never go wrong with this chain-embellished headband by Jennifer Behr (via net-a-porter).
2. Take some inspirations from THE Queen of headbands Rumi.
3. Camilla headband by Eugenia Kim (via net-a-porter) , the ultimate accessory for a girls’ night out .
4. Spice up a simple “Tee + Jeans” outfit with the circle feather headband from Topshop.
5. Missoni plaited woven headband if you wanna go hippie de luxe (via net-a-porter).
6. Headbands are an obligatory part of the festival uniform (as captured by the Facehunter at Coachella).

The Met Gala is definitely one of the hottest and most covetted red carpet events of the year. Without doubt, there were lots of beautiful ball gowns, but I’m mostly intrigued by the more daring and unexpected looks. Voila, my very personal favourites:
Chloe Sevigny in a sublime Proenza Schouler frock

Alexa Chung rocking a Phillip Lim tuxedo

Charlotte Kemp Muhl + Sean Lennon (aka hottest couple in town) and Sasha Pivovarova, all übercool in Marni

Charlotte Gainsbourg in Balenciaga

and Les Coupines’ darling Emma Watson in a custom Burberry dress

Phoebe Philo photographed by David Sims for the first issue of the gentlewoman.
Apart from being a truely stellar designer (back then at Chloe and now at Celine…), Phoebe Philo just has this incredible natural beauty!
Have a look at the other shots of the story:

As always when there’s a change of season, you start wondering what to wear…well, I’ve the feeling I just have winter clothes here in Paris, so I really need to do some Spring shopping asap!
Voila, a small selection of my favourite streestyle inspirations for Spring:

I believe everything Jeans is gonna be huge! Jeans shirts, jackets, patched up Jeans like the ones from Chloe and playsuits ( I fell in love with this one from ACNE)…

…then there is gonna be lots of beige & khaki and flower prints (go Vintage for that look!)

…and some of our favourites from last seasons like sharp shoulders, leopard and good old chucks in bright colours.
What do you think are the essentials for Spring?!

I am totally obsessed with hats right now…
If you wanna mix with the cool crowd in le Marais you absolutely need to wear a hat, so there is no way I could survive Spring in Paris without having one!

The hunt for the perfect hat has officially begun!

Ohh well, good old chucks..never out of fashion, always comfortable (high speed relief for heel-tortured feed) and so versatile!
I totally need a pair covered up with studds! This might be a worthwhile DIY project, if only I had SOME time…

Todd Selby is the number one source of inspiration when it comes to creative interiors. The new media, more tasteful version of good old MTV cribs (I bet we all watched it at one point…) coveres the homes/ offices of the most coveted artists, models and creative minds like Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Erin Wasson, Oliver Zahm and Alex Wang, to name a few. Now the Selby is finally releasing a book:

It contains over 30 profiles, accompanied by Todd’s famous watercolor portraits and small interviews, of which most have not been published before on the Selby site. The book is launching on April 1st, but there will be an exclusive pre-sale chez Colette this week, with lots of cool events ranging from Karaoke, to interior consultation and the possibility to get a portrait of your pet.
So, guess where I will be heading today to get my version of the book…?
I just love Todd’s eye for small, random details and his artsy/crazy motives.

Take a cue from these two fashion week beauties on how to instantly spice up an outfit.
Its easy: Take out your favourite sequins party top and pair it with basic day time staples for an effortless yet glamorous look.

Here is an absolutely directional editorial for the new season which I (surprisingly) stumbled upon in the February issue of French Glamour. Now don’t get me wrong here: Glamour is fine and all that! Just usually very commercial and not the kind of material I get inspired by. This editorial, however, sums up everything I need for S/S 10: a laid-back 70’s attitude mixed with some good old Hollywood glam and a doze of rock’n roll to spice it up. Yummie! Think oversized 70’s sunnies, denim shorts, floral prints, lots of MUSTARD shades and platform wedge heels.

Leave it to Carine & Co to push the limits of aesthetics…Among the recent overflow of too pretty, military inspired editorials, this is the first one I really like, cause it dares to be different and truely fierce.

Can’t wait to hold the actual new issue of Vogue Paris in my hands.
