Alexa’s style diary

Nati

alexacheung3

Alexa Chung is one of our favourite it-girls and always a source of inspiration when it comes to quirky and creative dressing. Now, thanks to Vogue UK, we have the possibility to follow Alexa’s style choices every day for a whole month. Unfortunatelly, the quality of the pics is not the best, yet they offer us a little glimpse into Alexa’s daily fashion choices. We wanna see more of that!

Valentine’s countdown

valentine4

It’s one week until Valentine’s and here are some of the best picks for our all time favourite holiday:

1.+2.: If you wanna go truely luxe for Valentine’s don’t miss out on Miu Miu’s capsule collection for this special occasion. I love the little embalished patent-leather pochette and the plain tee with puffy heart-shaped sleeves.

3. (Diptyque) Red special edition candle. Its vanilla/ rooibos fragrance is just delicious, plus it helps a good cause!

4. Marc by Marc Jacobs Electro Pop cosmetic case. Seen at MyTheresa.

5. If you wanna go sweet on Valentine’s , there is no way around some Laduree macaroons. Get them in this most girly gift box by Yazbukey.

6. Carlota’s heart-shaped biscuits. Seen at Colette Paris.

Finally, if you’re looking for a more personal and creative gesture for Valentine’s day, get inspired by this super cute Garance Dore story!!

Last days of soldes

Nati

kooples3

The last days of sales in Paris have arrived and usually around this time, there is nothing good left anymore…so I was totally excited when I came across this amazing the Kooples necklace yesterday for 50% off. I have been searching all winter for this kind of necklace…it’s the perfect piece to spice up a basic jeans/tee combi and adds the right amount of rock’n'roll to each look.

Well, I have to admit that apart from checking out their sales, I had a look at the new spring pieces. The collection is gonna be super hot, but more on this later. In the mean time, I suggest you check out the Kooples site, they have a really good music player, to which I have been rockin all moring.

I wish you a great weekend, xx

Fashionably late: Happy Birthday, girlie!

Carola

Happy Birthday Nati

Okay, what’s this month’s most important event? No, not Berlin Fashion Week (that’s my good excuse!). It’s the 25-years celebration of Princess Paris formerly known as La Coupine 1! Yeah and I forgot! Blame it on my tight schedule packed with fashion shows, interviews and the set up of a new blog (more later) or the fact that Nati and I have been separated literally (she in Paris, me in a small town somewhere close to the alps…) which feels kinda weird. However, to make it all up here’s an official ode to the most fabulous and amazing girl on the planet! May all of your wishes come true (the ones including Isabel Marant and YSL don’t count!).

I miss u.

Spotted: Topmodel Eva Padberg & Armin Mohrbach

Eva Padberg und Armin Mohrbach

I spotted German topmodel Eva Padberg at the Schumacher opening show this morning. I have to say that I’d never been my much of a fan but was totally amazed by her fresh looks and her cool outfit:

Note to myself: Grey-ish velvet blazers paired with powder-colored silk dresses make a perfect fashion-show-outfit. And yeah, who really cares about the bag in 2010?

Back in the game: at Berlin Fashion Week

How to pull off Sonia Rykiel Lingerie

Carola

Elin Kling in a Sonia Rykiel corsage

To be honest I wasn’t too thrilled with the Sonia Rykiel for H&M-collection. I thought the designs were cute but not wearable and realized in poor quality (okay, that was expected! I mean, we’re talking H&M here…). But above all: I wouldn’t know when or where to wear those sexy pieces! Romantic date with the boyfriend? C’MON! I am a busy single gal in a big city. I don’t DO romantic boyfriend dates! When I entered the store on Saturday, my first impression was only confirmed by a mass of giant-looking bulky bras and matching panties (the sad leftovers I guess), all baggy and kind of shape-less. I couldn’t even get myself to try ONE piece.

But then my friend Nina tells me “No, no! I want this lace-thing. It’s perfect!”. Mmmhhh… (where would Nina wear this?). So yesterday I stumpled upon this picture of the gorgeous Elin Kling wearing her Sonia Rykiel for H&M-corsage with a matching lace cardigan (H&M too!), black leggings and a Chanel 2.55. That’s it! FABULOUS! Perfect party-outfit! Sigh. Swedish girls do it better, no;-)?

Now that I know how to pull it off it’s probably sold-out. Classic!
