J. Crew’s creative director Jenna Lyons pulling of a sweater-feather-skirt combo on the red carpet. That’s my NYE outfit inspiration!
I actually found this amazing maxi feather skirt at Massimo Dutti. Together with the boyfriend’s cashmere sweater and this metallic YSL clutch and eventually a pair of dramatic crystal earrings it makes for the perfect cozy-glam outfit. Thanks, Jenna!
In the midst of going through my favorite Steve Jobs quotes this past week grieving for one of the world’s greatest and most inspiring entrepreneurs, I re-discovered this statement which is – also – perfectly applicable to fashion:
“Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple.”
Makes so much sense right now, doesn’t it?
So consequently I’ve made my closet undergo a thorough cleanse (really not much left there) and feel like I’m ready for a fresh start into fall. Literally FRESH. Now what feels fresher than going all-white on a dull fall day? PLUS it is so simple. All I need is to reactivate my white skinny denim (which luckily turned up last weekend – I haven’t taken it off since), get an off-white knit sweater (check Sandro!) and add my favorite pair of strappy sandals (the above ones are Giuseppe Zanotti btw). Now this may not be exactly weather-appropriate but let me tell ya that dressing weather-appropriate is for bores. It just is. As for me, I won’t even bother shopping for autumnal colors (Halloween says hi) but look cool in white on white. Cheers!

I just had the most amazing time with my dearest Coupine during Fashion Week in Paris!
LOVE this picture of her on the way to the Carven show…perfect Paris girl style.
Carola was wearing an Equipment blouse with her vintage Kiliwatch leather skirt (a little treasure found during our previous Paris trip), Chanel bag, Bottega Veneta sunnies and her brand new Maje booties!
Stay tunned for more Paris memories ?
If you want to know what Parisian girls dress like right now, just take a look at the October issue of Vogue Paris! It’s all about black & white, a dash of vintage Chanel and – this is new! -sporty elements like track pants, biker jackets and denim.
Tough glamour à la Parisienne: white leather perfecto, chunky vintage jewelry and a black bodysuit. Add a heeled boot et voilà!
I’m really into the idea of revamping a white denim mini (I mean really, this is something I hide deep-down in my closet!) with those Giuseppe Zanotti two-tone pumps and a little black jacket. The golden Chanel chain is obligatory. Anyone who can pull this off?
Oh I almost forgot about this one: the Peter Pan collar. It’s a mega trend here! And it starts spreading all over Europe… Love the idea of accenting a fluffy mohair sweater dress with a golden collar-shaped necklace! Now try to find one…Tss!

French Voguette Géraldine Saglio was keeping it simple at the DRIES VAN NOTEN show today. Love the black-everything ensemble and her classic accessories! It reminds me of Milan… Note Emanuelle Alt in the background rocking her signature outfit: rolled up jeans, pointy heels and smoking blazer. X
Right now, I just wanna put on that dress, let my ombre hair down and hit the beach on Ibiza…
Hippie-esque jewelry. All the way!
Love it when the necklaces are longer than the actual dress.
I found these pics in PlanetBlue‘s lookbook and thought they were perfectly capturing that gipsy summer feel of late August days when everyone just seems to need some time OUT. Like away from it all.
So here’s my Gipsy Summer essential kit:
1. Fringed leather top: All Saints
2. Arty ring in turquoise: YSL on netaporter.com
3. Pelicane ring: Bimba y Lola
4. Crochet mini dress: Topshop
5. Long gold toned necklaces: Topshop
Feather necklace: Isabel Marant on netaporter.com
6. Braided leather clutch: Bottega Veneta
Enjoy your (urban) summer, girls!

Vogue US just revealed an inside look at THE fashion wedding of the year with a collection of amazing and partially never-seen-before shots by no other than superstar photographer Mario Testino. You HAVE to check this out! It’s gonna be the new benchmark for a dream wedding, seriously! My favourite take? The above is an hommage to Mick & Bianca Jagger’s backseat wedding portrait from 1971. Major!
Oh and the bridemaids line-up wasn’t bad either! From left: Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood, Jess Hallett, Kate Moss, Rosemary Ferguson.
Bottom row, from left: Sadie Frost, Lucie de la Falaise.
Yesterday Amy Winehouse passed away at the age of 27. We are shocked and sad.
Amy was a great artist with a unique voice and iconic style.
L’Idole, styled by Emmanuelle Alt for the February issue of Vogue Paris, is an hommage to Amy’s authentic style:
Cara Delevingne (yes, it’s Poppy’s younger sister!) at the Serpentine summer party in London last month. I instantly want to pack my bags and move to London when looking at it. Where else in the world could wearing a hippie-esque headband & heavy motorcycle booties to a fancy cocktail event result in the evening’s most-wowed outfit?

Gotta love Gillian Zinser! She’s the coolest boho-girl out there. Here’s some of my favorite Gillian-outfits:
Don’t think I know anyone else who can effortlessly pull off the pink hair and a baggy dress. Oh well, a perfect complexion helps I guess.
White crochet mini dress, lace-up suede boots and fluo-coloredsatchel bag perfectly set off with oversized sunnies and dramatic hair!
Gillian in fringed pants and Budweiser vintage tee at the Nylon Mag party. Even next to Kate Bosworth’s Dolce & Gabbana lace ensemble she looked good!
This is probably my absolute favourite! Very Californ-I-A.
A tunic layered over a printed maxi skirt works with the cropped biker and a vintage hat. Her outfits never miss to inspire. Go, Gillian!

Found this fantastic, handmade (authentic Native American craftmanship!) ensemble of necklaces in the most random Navajo Indian accessories store called ARIZONA in downtown Frankfurt (kind of place you’d never expect me to enter). Believe it or not, (and despite ARIZONA being the least fashionable place on earth) this set – it took me the entire afternoon to pull the different components – costs a fortune altogether! And I’m talking Prada pricepoints here.
Sooo, anyone into Najavo Indian jewelry? I take donations. X
The principle of Mix & Match – my most important style credo btw – got a whole new meaning when I came across Cynthia Smith‘s nonchalant way of pairing a mini & maxi bag for the ‘Five days, Five looks, One Girl’ feature on vogue.com (if you’re not familiar with the series, make sure you check it out here!). And since the Voguista’s mint-green mini Chanel and two-tone Céline shopper make such a stylish pair, I’ve decided to put together a couple of suggestions on how to mix XS and XL bags:
Absolutely LOVE the pop-hued mini version of Lanvin’s iconic ‘Happy’ bag! Since it certainly doesn’t fit much of my stuff (close to nothing actually) I would complement it with an oversized classic carry-all from Mulberry. The soft, tan vintage leather leaves the floor to the rasperry pink tone.
Topping my list of must-buy bags is the mini shoulder bag from Valentino’s Rockstud collection. I think it would perfectly work for the office when teamed with this raffia beach tote that easily fits my ballet flats, magazines & a bottle of Evian.
Feeling very drawn to the wristlet trend lately. This black leather Alaia model could be pinched straight from the Olsen Twins’ closets. And since it’s a little too precious to be limited to after-dark occasions, the Kate Mouse print tote bag with black leather straps (exclusive to Liberty!) makes a nice & roomy addition. And we know there’s only one Kate in London, right;-)?

Caroline Sieber and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld at Paris Fashion Week. Both gorgeous but Caroline gets extra credits for her bare legs and those enviable Prada platform heels from the S/S collection that I’ve been dying to get my hands on!
