After last season’s distressed military look, Decarnin choose to go Baroque chic for his new collection and brings back some Louis XIV decadence to Paris. He stays true to the big-shoulders silhouette and plays with lots of gold and brocade. I LIKE a lot!!
Todd Selby is the number one source of inspiration when it comes to creative interiors. The new media, more tasteful version of good old MTV cribs (I bet we all watched it at one point…) coveres the homes/ offices of the most coveted artists, models and creative minds like Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Erin Wasson, Oliver Zahm and Alex Wang, to name a few. Now the Selby is finally releasing a book:
It contains over 30 profiles, accompanied by Todd’s famous watercolor portraits and small interviews, of which most have not been published before on the Selby site. The book is launching on April 1st, but there will be an exclusive pre-sale chez Colette this week, with lots of cool events ranging from Karaoke, to interior consultation and the possibility to get a portrait of your pet.
So, guess where I will be heading today to get my version of the book…?
I just love Todd’s eye for small, random details and his artsy/crazy motives.
After New York and London, the social media hype has reached Milano, too. The following fashion houses are showing their new collections for Fall to a larger audience than just the likes of Anna dello Russo:
Here is an absolutely directional editorial for the new season which I (surprisingly) stumbled upon in the February issue of French Glamour. Now don’t get me wrong here: Glamour is fine and all that! Just usually very commercial and not the kind of material I get inspired by. This editorial, however, sums up everything I need for S/S 10: a laid-back 70’s attitude mixed with some good old Hollywood glam and a doze of rock’n roll to spice it up. Yummie! Think oversized 70’s sunnies, denim shorts, floral prints, lots of MUSTARD shades and platform wedge heels.
All the fashionable Paris crowd gathered yesterday in front of Colette, to snap one of the highly coveted, strawberry-print YSL bags plus manifesto. It was a real fight and they were out in no time…
Among all the fashionistas lining up on Rue St. Honore, these two young ladies were definitely the coolest:
These two mini-fashionistas were totally into fashion brands and had already gotten the YSL manifesto last season (!)…too cute. So I could not resist taking a pic with them.
After the stressful hunt, I just had to take my bag out for a little walk in the sunny Tuileries garden…
In a bit, I’m gonna start my hunt for the YSL Manifesto here in Paris (its the perfect sunny weather for it!!). I’m gonna strategically position myself at the distribution location near Colette, to do lots of stylish people watching! So stay tuned!
After missing out on the Phoenix concert already, which is completely sold out in Paris, I was lucky enough to get some tickets for Les Plastiscines! Still have to figure out who is gonna be my plus 1, but I am totally excited to go see them! They will be playing on March 16th in la Maroquinerie.
Now I just need to get my hands on one of their “Bitch in disguise”tees!
Leave it to Carine & Co to push the limits of aesthetics…Among the recent overflow of too pretty, military inspired editorials, this is the first one I really like, cause it dares to be different and truely fierce.
Can’t wait to hold the actual new issue of Vogue Parisin my hands.
