Here is an absolutely directional editorial for the new season which I (surprisingly) stumbled upon in the February issue of French Glamour. Now don’t get me wrong here: Glamour is fine and all that! Just usually very commercial and not the kind of material I get inspired by. This editorial, however, sums up everything I need for S/S 10: a laid-back 70’s attitude mixed with some good old Hollywood glam and a doze of rock’n roll to spice it up. Yummie! Think oversized 70’s sunnies, denim shorts, floral prints, lots of MUSTARD shades and platform wedge heels.
All the fashionable Paris crowd gathered yesterday in front of Colette, to snap one of the highly coveted, strawberry-print YSL bags plus manifesto. It was a real fight and they were out in no time…
Among all the fashionistas lining up on Rue St. Honore, these two young ladies were definitely the coolest:
These two mini-fashionistas were totally into fashion brands and had already gotten the YSL manifesto last season (!)…too cute. So I could not resist taking a pic with them.
After the stressful hunt, I just had to take my bag out for a little walk in the sunny Tuileries garden…
In a bit, I’m gonna start my hunt for the YSL Manifesto here in Paris (its the perfect sunny weather for it!!). I’m gonna strategically position myself at the distribution location near Colette, to do lots of stylish people watching! So stay tuned!
After missing out on the Phoenix concert already, which is completely sold out in Paris, I was lucky enough to get some tickets for Les Plastiscines! Still have to figure out who is gonna be my plus 1, but I am totally excited to go see them! They will be playing on March 16th in la Maroquinerie.
Now I just need to get my hands on one of their “Bitch in disguise”tees!
Leave it to Carine & Co to push the limits of aesthetics…Among the recent overflow of too pretty, military inspired editorials, this is the first one I really like, cause it dares to be different and truely fierce.
Can’t wait to hold the actual new issue of Vogue Parisin my hands.
I’ve always been a fan of Marc’s work, but this is the first time, I really fell in love with it!
It all just worked for me: the grays and beiges, the A-lines, the little fur details, the romantic touch…it all seemed so fresh, effortless and above all genuine.
The show was great, too. Its the first time, I actually watched a live stream and it was definitely worth it staying up until 2am.
Les Coupines agree: this has been one of the best Marc Jacobs shows so far!! Have a look at the whole collection here.
p.s.: and don’t miss the live stream of the Proenza Schouler show, tonight at 8pm EST on their website.
This year, I had the most perfect V-daywith the girlsin Paris!
We checked out all the right places for the occasion (definitely worth a visit when in Paris!):
It all started with dinner Saturday evening at this trendy Italian place in le Marais: Cafe Baci. Sunday morning we then had the most girly champagne brunch at les Philosophes. They really have the best breakfast, celebrity spotting included! We rounded it all up with a little stroll through le Marais, where we came across this lovely Valentine’s pop-up store, which distributed Kusmi Sweet Love tea for free!
On this Valentines’s day it seems the right time to pay homage to all of those hot and cute couples out there. They seem to be very en vogue lately, especially in Paris. Some of the most hip Parisian labels, Zadig & Voltaire and the Kooples have been using the theme for their ad campaigns several seasons in a row.
For the coming season, Mark Ronson and Josephine de la Baume are starring in the new Zadig & Voltaire ads. Last season the choice was for the couple du jourSean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp, defenitely the hottest duo out there, as proven by the latest issue of Jalouse Magazine.
And voila, some of the super hip couples appearing in the new the Kooples ad series:
So, even as the most notorious single, you cannot help but love them, right?!
Happy V-day to all of you hot couples and hot singles out there!
