A true genius has left us.
First of all, I owe you a huge apology for my way too long blogging absence..it feels like forever and I missed you guys!! But now I’m finally in Paris, settled a bit and I’m back for good! So stay tuned for lots of exciting Paris stories!
Bisous Nati
P.S: above I’m on the farmer’s market on Place Monge wearing my oh-so Parisian Sonia Rykiel hat.
Okay, what’s this month’s most important event? No, not Berlin Fashion Week (that’s my good excuse!). It’s the 25-years celebration of Princess Paris formerly known as La Coupine 1! Yeah and I forgot! Blame it on my tight schedule packed with fashion shows, interviews and the set up of a new blog (more later) or the fact that Nati and I have been separated literally (she in Paris, me in a small town somewhere close to the alps…) which feels kinda weird. However, to make it all up here’s an official ode to the most fabulous and amazing girl on the planet! May all of your wishes come true (the ones including Isabel Marant and YSL don’t count!).
I miss u.
As some of you might have noticed, I have not been very active with blogging lately. The reason is my Master Thesis, which has to be done by the end of the year and which is taking most of my time. I am now finally finished with creating the questionnaire for my research and it would be great if you could fill it out (some of you might have already received an e-mail about it). The topic of my reserach is fashion blogs, so you are all part of my perfect sample!!
Check out the questionnaire here!
As I need a lot of respondents, I am grateful for every single one of you who participates and there is also a small reward!
I promise I will be back soon, with lots of new blogging power and great stories from Paris, where I will be moving soon!
Thanks to all of you for your support,
xx Nati
It’s getting cold down here. Time to get those BLACK wool coats out! Boring? Well, it’s all about the details! Be inspired by the Milanese and French fashionistas and wear your coat with black opaques or lace tights (like Giovanna Battaglia, left). A discrete, all-black outfit will leave the floor to spectacular heels and booties. A small belt accentuates the waist and creates an ultra-feminine look. MK Olsen (far right) shows an even more extravagant version with a long lace skirt and Burberry platform booties (perfect contrast!). Last but not least: break it up with some bright red nailpolish. Okay, Nati would go for pink…Works both perfectly!
Here is a selection of stunning coats for the ultimate Cinderella-feeling:
1. The luxe version: Miu belted wool coat via mytheresa.com (€1.290) for many years
2. Eco class: Juicy Couture “Michelle” via net-a-porter.com (€402.95)
3. On a budget: Topshop’s “Melton Frock” coat has a cute skirt detail (£85)
The good thing about being jet-lagged is that I (usually not exactly a morning-person!) wake up real early and get to see amazing views of this amazing city. Like Central Park in the warm morning light on a sunny day. FABULOUS! The downside: falling asleep in a cab on my way to dinner in SoHo, realizing that I am an hour too EARLY (never happened before, I swear!), heading straight to the bar for a double espresso and any drink that contains sparkling wine or redbull and making everyone around think that I’m really stoned…
Oh and by the way: I didn’t shop anything yet. Not kidding! It might be because I could hardly keep my eyes open the past two days or maybe I was just too excited/amazed/drawn to everything else in this city that I kept thinking “yeah, I can get that online too!”. I am not giving up yet though;-). Off to Barneys!
Love from THE CITY.
N.Y. loves me. And I love N.Y. I just know it! We had a sort of long-distance-relationship so far… But Thursday will be the day when I can finally embrace my beloved city and let the world know that we were meant to be! It will be a rendezvous in fashion heaven;-).
Yeah. Back to reality. Fact is: I’m going on a five-days-trip to the big apple with my sis and I have so many plans and a to-do-list of 20 pages (okay, 30!) that five weeks wouldn’t be enough to tick it all off. Taking into account the likely event that I will be dead broke after three days only having shopped like a CRAZY person, five days is the maximum I can do. For now. But this love-story will be continued. Cause N.Y. loves me, u know;-)?
We love everything CHANEL. From bags to nailpolish and from the movie to King Karl – EVERYTHING. So hearing that the talented Olivier Zahm (Purple Fashion) will art direct and design the first-ever-magazine of the iconic fashion house is great news to us! Chanel may not be the first-mover in this but at least they do it right. The first pictures are promising!
Gotta call my sister and ask her to run to their store in Frankfurt and pick up a copy. BTW they named it “31 Rue Cambon“. It’s already a classic, don’t u think;-)?
Hanging out at my sister’s place wearing pretty much everything my mom hates to see us in. Like faux-leather leggings and animal prints… This is a rather unusual outfit for me as I tend to dress more classic. But yeah…it’s “the day after”. So I just threw on some basic tee and added stuff from my sister’s closet;-)
There are certain relicts from the 80′s that totally deserve a comeback. Among those: the Moschino statement belt. No need to discuss whether it’s too bold, too flashy or even tasteless: IT’S COOL! Just like Rayban Wayfarers are.
Inspired by some of our favorite blogger colleagues (Gala, Camille and Kristin from Beach Black), we pulled this look taking the Moschino belt from the 80′s to the 2000′s:
1. Belt: Moschino (vintage, search Ebay!)
2. Dress: Acne print silk dress via mytheresa.com
4. Turban-like hat from Opening Ceremony
5. Matching pyramid ring: Kenneth Jay Lane
6. Nailpolish: Chanel Orange Fizz
Okay, I admit that this outfit is a little outrageous. But c’mon…I’d totally wear it like this if I lived in NYC. Ha…if only I lived in NYC! For all other city-girls: add a grey ovesized sweater;-)!
xoxo
Let me officially introduce to you my fabulous sister and – at the same time- my best real-life-fashion-friend.
May you all be inspired;-)!
I like this serious picture of her.
But she’s actually more like THIS! Like laughing a lot. And dirty.
Blazer, dress and shoes: all Zara, tights: Falke, mini clutch: Bottega Veneta, lipstick: T. LeClerc Rouge Vibrant.
La Coupine 1 is finally back in town and we spent some quality girls time today: a little shopping, strolling through the streets and good coffee of course. Perfect saturday!
Wearing my “souvenirs” from Paris: studded gloves and a double-breasted wool-blazer. BTW this chocolate-colored vespa from the 50′s belongs to an antique store in that street. It’s great!
Close-up of the gloves. They are definitely the coolest accessory I own! Found at Le Bon Marché on the ground floor.
The rest of this outfit is rather basic. I am saving the dressing-up for tonight;-). It’s Halloween (as one can easily tell by the two giant pumpkins in the background)! Have a great night out everyone!
Blazer: Isabel Marant Étoile, striped tee: H&M, wool vest: Humanoid, old skinnies, gloves: from Le Bon Marché Paris, ballerinas: Tory Burch.
This is an original quote from my Parisienne friend Melina who – TRUST me – knows what she’s talking about! We spotted great examples of the blazer-mania all over Paris but also elsewhere in the fashion landscape. HOW to wear it? Take inpiration from these stylish ladies:
Swedish newcomer model FRIDA GUSTAVSSON during London fashion week in an old-school tweed blazer spiced up with vintage denim shorts and overknee-socks. Very brit!

Rumi from fashiontoast pairs her double-breasted vintage blazer with a short slipdress and all-black-accessories like the Alexander Wang Diego bag.
Ashley Olsen wears her grey wool blazer with a thick oversized scarf, cut-off black skinnies and classic pumps.
Same blazer, different outfit! I love how she can pull of a look that consists of only classic pieces like a cardigan, geek glasses and jeans and still look incredibly cool and sexy. Ashley, you’re my style goddess!
Pics via Olsen’s Anonymous.
GET THE LOOK:
1. Wear a classic cardigan in bottle green with nothing underneath. I found this one at Topshop for £ 38.
2. Wear it with BASIC black skinny jeans like the Acne Kex Smooth and CUT THEM OFF right under your ankle! It’s the new thing. Slashed denim is sooo last season;-)!
3. Geek glasses in brown add a touch of “librarian”. These are the Ray Ban Wayfarers in Dark Havana.
4. Double-breasted blazer jacket from Miss Selfridge for £ 25. If you want to invest into a more special piece check the Vanessa Bruno Athé collection at La Garconne.
5. Finally a pair of classic pumps like the Louboutin Décoletté 100 jazz pumps will round this look.
So ditch your wool coats this fall: it’s all about the blazer! Got it;-)?
After a long long day of FACEHUNTING in front of the shows, endless walking, extreme shopping and few coffee breaks we somehow managed to go out for dinner and drinks in St. Germain. Here’s what we wore for a night out in PARIS:
I had never been a big fan of t-shirts with slogans. There’s something stupid about them. Like you couldn’t speak for yourself or you wouldn’t have the heart to make a verbal statement and had to use your upper body instead…RETARDED, no?! But then again there are statement tees that are just too cool to not like them. Like THIS one! Actually Nati was the first to discover the new interpretation of the all-time-classic LITTLE BLACK DRESS during our trip to Antwerp but it had sold out in her size. So my sister took her chance on this one and ordered it from the Urban Outfitters online-shop.
It’s so totally HER! She just had to have it…
