There are certain relicts from the 80′s that totally deserve a comeback. Among those: the Moschino statement belt. No need to discuss whether it’s too bold, too flashy or even tasteless: IT’S COOL! Just like Rayban Wayfarers are.
Inspired by some of our favorite blogger colleagues (Gala, Camille and Kristin from Beach Black), we pulled this look taking the Moschino belt from the 80′s to the 2000′s:
1. Belt: Moschino (vintage, search Ebay!)
2. Dress: Acne print silk dress via mytheresa.com
4. Turban-like hat from Opening Ceremony
5. Matching pyramid ring: Kenneth Jay Lane
6. Nailpolish: Chanel Orange Fizz
Okay, I admit that this outfit is a little outrageous. But c’mon…I’d totally wear it like this if I lived in NYC. Ha…if only I lived in NYC! For all other city-girls: add a grey ovesized sweater;-)!
xoxo

Due to my Master thesis I have been dealing a lot lately with the use of new media in marketing so I was delighted about this new, innovative project by Burberry. The art of the trench is an online platform, which was created in cooperation with the Sartorialist and which is a fabulous hommage to our all-time favourite piece of clothing. The site shows a great selection of streetstyle pictures of people wearing their trenchcoats across all major fashion capitals. Check it out here, its a great source of inspiration and it’s even possible to upload your own pics;-)

During my year in Milan 10 Corso Como used to be my favorite saturday-afternoon-hangout. Not necessarily for shopping but more to be INSPIRED. The music, the fashion, the people – all major trends could be spotted here. Carla Sozzani, former VOGUE editor and Italy’s style pope, founded this place almost 20 years ago. It is a beautifully designed concept store that hosts a great selection of designer fashion, furniture, design objects, music and books. Hidden away from Milan’s tourist area with its flashy designer-temples, 10 Corso Como has established as one of Europe’s most influential TREND BOUTIQUES. Alaia, Louboutin, Marni, Balenciaga…of course all these big names come with a hefty price tag! Luckily, the store now decided to cooperate with Net-a-Porter’s online-outlet “The Outnet” to sell one-of-a-kind pieces from past collections. Good for us!
Here are some of my favorites:

Let me officially introduce to you my fabulous sister and – at the same time- my best real-life-fashion-friend.
May you all be inspired;-)!

I like this serious picture of her.

But she’s actually more like THIS! Like laughing a lot. And dirty.
Blazer, dress and shoes: all Zara, tights: Falke, mini clutch: Bottega Veneta, lipstick: T. LeClerc Rouge Vibrant.
La Coupine 1 is finally back in town and we spent some quality girls time today: a little shopping, strolling through the streets and good coffee of course. Perfect saturday!

Wearing my “souvenirs” from Paris: studded gloves and a double-breasted wool-blazer. BTW this chocolate-colored vespa from the 50′s belongs to an antique store in that street. It’s great!

Close-up of the gloves. They are definitely the coolest accessory I own! Found at Le Bon Marché on the ground floor.

The rest of this outfit is rather basic. I am saving the dressing-up for tonight;-). It’s Halloween (as one can easily tell by the two giant pumpkins in the background)! Have a great night out everyone!
Blazer: Isabel Marant Étoile, striped tee: H&M, wool vest: Humanoid, old skinnies, gloves: from Le Bon Marché Paris, ballerinas: Tory Burch.

For a long long time now, I have been craving the YSL arty ovale ring. It is the perfect accessory to spice up each look. Just wear alone or pile them on, like the fashionable lady above from 4th and bleeker…

Garance Doré is one of our all time favourite bloggers! She has an incredible talent to take pictures of girls, which underline their inner beauty. And Garance has a great sense of humour. We LOVE her stories about her newest style addictions, little fashion emergencies and all the other girl talk. So it has become one of our favourite daily routines, to check her blog in the morning! Garance has been doing some great work and has been rewarded for that: recently, she launched a limited collection of T-shirts with the GAP (which sadly sold out immediately) and is now working very closely with French Vogue (could there be a better match?) to do some behind the scenes coverage.
Taking our high appreciation for Garance’s work, you can certainly imagine that we had the most surreal moment ever, when we met her and the Sartorialist in the Metro on the way to the Chloe Show, during Fashion Week. Garance was stunning in person! So natural, and sweet and very chic wearing her short- sleeved Max Mara coat. So we talked to her – actually Garance did most of the talking, we were so taken by her charisma that we could merely sit there and listen. We were even too excited to ask for a picture (sooo stupid of us!!).
Well, I promise I stop obsessing now…but let me still show you some of my very favourite pictures by Garance…

Yesterday, I got myself the October Issue of i-D magazine. It’s such a good one… featuring the most coveted fashion crowd out there right now. I literally could not get myself to put it aside, before reading the whole thing (so I’m running on a sleep deficit now…).
One of the best contributions in the issue is this editorial with favourite model Dree Hemmingway, photographed by Alasdair McLellan. I LOVE these pictures: Dree looks so natural and fragile and beautiful, plus she is wearing lots of Isabel Marant…the whole mood is so special.
This is an original quote from my Parisienne friend Melina who – TRUST me – knows what she’s talking about! We spotted great examples of the blazer-mania all over Paris but also elsewhere in the fashion landscape. HOW to wear it? Take inpiration from these stylish ladies:

Swedish newcomer model FRIDA GUSTAVSSON during London fashion week in an old-school tweed blazer spiced up with vintage denim shorts and overknee-socks. Very brit!

Rumi from fashiontoast pairs her double-breasted vintage blazer with a short slipdress and all-black-accessories like the Alexander Wang Diego bag.

Ashley Olsen wears her grey wool blazer with a thick oversized scarf, cut-off black skinnies and classic pumps.

Same blazer, different outfit! I love how she can pull of a look that consists of only classic pieces like a cardigan, geek glasses and jeans and still look incredibly cool and sexy. Ashley, you’re my style goddess!
Pics via Olsen’s Anonymous.

1. Wear a classic cardigan in bottle green with nothing underneath. I found this one at Topshop for £ 38.
2. Wear it with BASIC black skinny jeans like the Acne Kex Smooth and CUT THEM OFF right under your ankle! It’s the new thing. Slashed denim is sooo last season;-)!
3. Geek glasses in brown add a touch of “librarian”. These are the Ray Ban Wayfarers in Dark Havana.
4. Double-breasted blazer jacket from Miss Selfridge for £ 25. If you want to invest into a more special piece check the Vanessa Bruno Athé collection at La Garconne.
5. Finally a pair of classic pumps like the Louboutin Décoletté 100 jazz pumps will round this look.
So ditch your wool coats this fall: it’s all about the blazer! Got it;-)?

I just love this picture of super hot Entourage star Adrian Grenier (you might also know him as the cute boyfriend in the Devil Wears Prada) riding a bike in Paris. When we were in Paris last week, we noticed bikes ALL over the place, they really seem to be the new ‘It’ accessory.
Note to myself: when I’m moving to Paris in January, I gotta get myself a bike asap, plus a cute guy to ride it with ;-)

We spent our last day in PARIS in the city’s most charming and trendy district: LE MARAIS. On a Thursday afternoon it has quite a peaceful “small-village”-atmosphere and invites you to stroll around, take a look at the small boutiques and galeries, sit down outside the boho-cafè “La Perle“, watch stylish people pass by and just be INSPIRED…
Here’s where u really HAVE to go when u are in Paris.

It is not hard to find exceptionally STYLISH and well-dressed people in Paris, that’s for sure! They are everywhere. Paris is like a CANDY SHOP for the style-hungry! Despite our constant sensory overload during this trip we were both equally impressed when we ran into this oh-so-chic Parisian girl in Marais today. Her black & blue vintage outfit definitely deserves the “Miss Marais”-award, don’t you think;-)?

After a long long day of FACEHUNTING in front of the shows, endless walking, extreme shopping and few coffee breaks we somehow managed to go out for dinner and drinks in St. Germain. Here’s what we wore for a night out in PARIS:
